South Wairarapa Rotary Club

Dec 2013

The Greytown Christmas Parade, organised each year by South Wairarapa Rotary, will take place on December 21st at 1pm.  If you would like to enter a float, please be at the Greytown Rugby Club on East Street by 12:15pm.  Come and join in the fun!

We had a very enjoyable dinner with Featherston Lions at The Tin Hut.  It’s always fun to catch up with other service groups; but also very helpful to get to know each other better, especially in small communities like ours.

Alistair Plimmer and past President Beth Taylor attended the Senior Prizegiving at Kuranui College to present the Martinborough Fair bursaries (each worth $4,500 to help them with their tertiary education plans), this year awarded to Sian Dunlop and Renske Van Steensel. Alistair and Beth interviewed six applicants and the calibre of those interviewed made the final decision very difficult. Renske and Sian will be our guests at Rotary on 27th November.

And you can also listen in to “Rotary Matters”, a programme all about Rotary in Wairarapa, broadcast on Arrow 92.7FM the first Friday of each month at 2:30pm, with a repeat on the Sunday following at 4pm.
