There is an old saying that one picture is worth a thousand words, so if you want to see what I mean when I say the music was incandescent by the end of the night, go to our website: www.crosscreekblues.co.nz
After three distinctly different styles of music to begin the evening from Wayne Manson, The Feather City Strugglers and the Fire Maintenance Blues Band, Doctor Rob and Grafia gave us a taste of their blues medicine.
K B and the Roosters, Club Captain Brad Reeves and Wairarapa’s own Stefan Brown treated us to more smokin’ blues.
Bluesman Bob Cooper Grundy favoured us with his red hot Americana blues version of Maybelline….. (Why can’t you be true?) and “You’re wanted by the Po-lice, and my wife thinks you’re dead!” He joined Pat McKenna, Mike Dew and Vic Vaughn (drums) for several numbers including classics by: Eric Clapton, Tony Joe White and Paul Butterfield.
Then when you thought it couldn’t get any better, Johnny Gray and Brad Reeves joined them in “Walkin’ the Dog.” The Tin Hut was rocking!! And all these musicians live right here on the Wairarapa!
Next club night is Wednesday 7 August from 7:15pm at the Tin Hut (dinner from 5pm). Our guests are “Sleight of Hanz” a band that has supported some world class musicians and plays a mix of Blues, funk, country and house music. Don’t Miss it!
Admission is only $5 for non-members.
