Passionate food aficionado, Gretchen Saulbrey is on a mission to put local food and beverages on the map.
?Saulbrey moved to the Wairarapa a year ago and lives in Greytown with her husband and 2 young children. As a mother and wife she is careful about what she nourishes her family with and is always looking out for local, natural food and wine.
As a new resident in the Wairarapa, Saulbrey was frustrated that she couldn’t get her hands on a list of all the local producers and the outlets in the Wairarapa that showcase them so she launching a website (purewairarapa.co.nz) to help others to identify what is local and where it can be bought.
The website will feature artisan foods, beverages, deli’s, markets, butcheries, wineries, cafes, restaurants and everything that celebrates our local cuisine.
Having studied finance and agribusiness at Massey to post-graduate level and going on to work as merchant banker in London, she knows a thing or two about business.
Saulbrey would like to hear from any producer or outlet in the region that would like to be featured on the site.
