Boutique Martinbrough winery, Julicher Estate, has won gold medals for their Pinot Noir at the two top wine shows in the UK. Julicher Estate Pinot Noir 2010 was awarded a gold medal at the 2013 Decanter World Wine Awards while sister label, Julicher 99 Rows Pinot Noir 2010, went gold at the 2013 International Wine Challenge.
The Decanter World Wine Awards is the world’s biggest global wine competition and is well known for its rigorous judging process. The International Wine Challenge is an annual British based wine competition, led by Charles Metcalfe and a team of eminent wine judges including Oz Clarke and Tim Atkin MW.
Julicher Estate has won numerous gold medals and trophies since their first vintage in 2002, and has twice won the prestigious award of Champion Wine of the Show for their Julicher Estate Pinot Noir at the NZ International Wine Show in 2007 and Air New Zealand Wine Awards in 2009.
Founder and co-owner Wim Julicher comments “Without doubt we have proven the outstanding quality of our wine”. The pedigree of the Te Muna road vineyards, the passion and commitment of the team including their exceptional winemaker, Outi Jakovirta, will continue to produce outstanding wines.
This year’s harvest has also been very good quality and you can look forward to plenty more gold-medal winning wines from this rather special Martinborough winery.
