New catalogue system coming to a WLS library near you.

Carterton, Martinborough, Featherston and Greytown Libraries are changing the software system for issuing, returning and maintaining the book records.  We have been using the current one for some years and it is time to update to a more modern version.

The new software system ‘Kotui’ is used across other libraries in NZ including Upper Hutt and Palmerston North and is much more advanced than the one we use at the moment so you will see many improvements.

From 6th June 2013 Kotui will be running in the libraries. However, to have it running really well, we need your help.  Everyone needs to fill out a new membership form to ensure we have updated, correct records.  You will be asked to fill this out the first time you come into the library after the 6th June.  Your help would be much appreciated.

You will notice the catalogue www.wls.org.nz will change with the new system and it will be much easier to find what you want.  However, between now and the 6th June we are not able to put the advance book orders on the catalogue or they will be lost when we move over to Kotui.

We apologise for this but it is better to put them on when we get the book in our hands than lose the record and your reserve hold when we change.

Please do ask a Librarian if you have any queries or wish to know more about the system and what it may mean to you.  We are learning the new system ourselves over the next few months and will be in a better position to advise you closer to the 6th June.
