Martinborough resident John Donald took out the silver medal at the Norfolk Island 33rd Clay Bird Championships. Held between the 3rd and 10th February. This is a recognised international level competition which this year attracted 85 contestants.
John only missed one target in the final contest. Unfortunately one competitor, a Norfolk resident, didn’t miss any.
Ease of travelling with shotguns to Norfolk Island has made it an ideal destination for clay target competitions and so has become a regular meeting place for keen members of the sport.
The competition’s success was celebrated with dinner at the top Norfolk restaurant which was greatly enjoyed – except for the lack of a Martinborough Wine on the wine list.
