The bright new Martinborough Facebook page Martinborough up close and personal is the brainchild of Leeanne Meikle. Leeanne became a rural Martinborough resident of necessity rather than choice – finding a home which she could afford.
However once moved in to this house 27 km from Martinborough (9km of this a winding metal road) she quickly fell in love with the beautiful country side. A professional singer, Leeanne landed a weekly gig at Café Medici, from there receiving much appreciated, helpful support and encouragement. She soon made many friends, and has found a house in Martinborough.
As Leeanne puts it: ”I have fallen in love with Martinborough and its people. It stands on its own – rich in history, famous in its own right. Giving recognition and World Titles through the sheer brilliance of local wine makers”.
The Facebook page’ Martinboroughupclose’ is Leanne’s contribution to the promotion of the town and district. Again in her words: “To showcase the businesses and people of Martinborough who make it the wonderful place it is”.
