The Ornithological Society, Wairarapa branch has started activities for 2013.
The first field trip will be a joint one which Forest and Bird (Horowhenua Branch) is hosting. This will be a “Farewell to the Godwits” and will take place on Sunday 3rd March at the Manawatu Estuary. For people wishing to come on this trip, meet at Moore Wilson’s carpark, Masterton at 9.00 am to share the car journey. The monthly meeting in March will be at a private home in Masterton with the guest speaker being John Cheyne from Waipukurau who has been doing a series of bird counts at Wairarapa Moana. John is about to start his fourth count for the year which should be finished by the time of the meeting. This meeting will be on Thursday 14th March at 7.30 pm.
