A brand new season

Mar 2013

Martinborough rugby club kicks off the new season with a new look. For the new look we sought the help from local designers Dustys&Lulu to create a new logo that would help us look more professional, established and approachable. It helped that Dusty had a taste of playing rugby for Marty last season to get a feel for the club. Dusty explains that the logo (crest) “captures the essence of an established proud rugby family here in Martinborough”. Lets hope the boys go all the way to the finals with new brand.

With the start of the season looming, you’ll be starting to hear Brucie ordering the guys around the park on Tuesday and Thursday nights. In preparation for the season Martinborough seniors will be playing one pre-season game against Western Suburbs away from home.

The competition starts on 23 March and the Seniors will be wanting start the season as they intend to go on with. We will have a schedule for the season published in the next Marty Star and on the website www.sportsground.co.nz/martinboroughrfc.

Also while we are on training Kev Ricky is running boot camp on Monday/Wednesday evenings and Saturday mornings get along $10 a session.

JABs have registration and skills day on the 10th of March. We are looking at the 24th of March as being the small blacks coaching day which will be awesome for the little ones, an opportunity to hone and grow there skill set.
Martinborough rugby club want to thank all the people that helped with Scottys BBQ fundraiser at both February and March fairs. A special thanks Scotty for your help and on going support of the club.
We need all the support we can get this season from young and old, please rock on down to the grounds on a Saturday grab a beverage and sausage from our sausage sizzle and enjoy some free flowing rugby from all the talented teams on offer. We do however emphasis no alcohol is to brought onto the grounds and have a zero tolerance to glass on or near the clubrooms and grounds.

Here’s to a new season.
