It’s been too hot to cook, work, dig in the garden or repair the roof. However, it has not been too hot to curl up in the shade under a tree and read a book or flick through a magazine especially if it also involves a long cool drink. I certainly hope you have been making the most of the weather.
As you can imagine, the Cabin has been a little like a sauna sometimes so it is with relief I can tell you that it will not be long until we move into our permanent home. Although the final contract is still winging its way to us for signature, the alterations have started for our Village Library.
Should you wander into the back of The Village Cafe you will see it is a little smaller as some of the space is now forming our new library at the rear of the Cafe. We hope it will be ready towards the end of February.
Other news – we have made it through the school holidays and thanks to all the parents that put up with the temporary outdoor check-in area far, far away from the library. I know it made things a little awkward sometimes, especially when the gazebo blew down, however you were all very patient. The children seemed to love the arrangement though so I guess that makes it all worthwhile.
My apologies that I have not been in the tin can (oops sorry The Cabin) very often over the last few months but I have been organising all the books and getting ready for the move so after the end of February you will no doubt see much more of me behind the counter. Happy summer reading.
