Jun 2012

Isn’t this weather just divine, you couldn’t ask for a better last few days, but I can’t say as much for the freezing mornings.
We must say a big thank you to the Ladies Auxiliary for their generous donation towards the Thai balls for the Pilates classes, which are still proving popular here at Wharekaka. Come along and have a go Monday morning’s 11am and only $3.00 per session.
Thank you to Martin Lawrence and Paul Kitteridge whom came and gave a performance to the Residents.
We have a performance by Cherry and Vickie on Queens Birthday weekend, Monday 4th June 4pm all welcome, gold coin donation appreciated. Also we also have a performance by Lance Nathan (Guitarist/Singer) on Friday 8th June 11am, all welcome gold coin donation appreciated.
A big thank you must also go to the Church Ladies who come in on the last Friday of the month for a sing ‘a’ long with the residents, without fail.
Volunteers still needed at Wharekaka can you give about ½ hr of your time a week or fortnight, to come in and read or take a resident up to the shops or a walk in the wheelchair, this would be very much appreciated. Thank you to Connie Taylor who has been coming in on a Wednesday afternoon to call the Housie numbers and drawing quite a crowed. “Thanks Connie”
Does anyone have any large print books they don’t want anymore? We would welcome them at Wharekaka.
